Art Computing Ltd

The company was founded in 1985 in Cambridge as Art Computing Ltd. The early focus of the company's activities was Computer Graphics. Among other activities, in the late 1980s Art Computing Ltd developed and sold the Artgraph graphics library.

First DBS Ltd

The name of the company was changed to First DBS Ltd in February 2001, as a better match to our current activities. Our interest and skills in Computer Graphics have been exploited in recent years in User Interface Design, using Oracle Forms, Oracle Graphics and various tools and techniques for the web.

Our interest in Relational Database systems was first kindled by a requirement to interface a Computer Aided Design system to Oracle, and since that time Oracle and other Relational Databases have featured prominently in much of our work.

In recent years the emphasis in our consulting work has tended to shift somewhat towards business matters and away from the purely technical, though our consultants retain a healthy enthusiasm for technology where it can be exploited appropriately for business benefit.
